DESCRIPTION:
===================================================================================================

A restoration of the original Fill-It game by Burkhard Ratheiser, circa 1999.

REQUIREMENTS:
===================================================================================================

Java Development Kit* (i.e. JDK, any version)

* The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) will NOT work, as it does not contain appletviewer.exe; you
MUST install the JDK to play this game!

INSTALLATION:
===================================================================================================

1. If you have not already, install the Java Development Kit (JDK).
2. Right-click on run.bat and choose Edit, or open with a text editor of your choice.
3. Change "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_60\bin\appletviewer.exe" to the path of the JDK you
   installed in step 1. Typically, all you need to change is the jdk1.8.0_60 part.
4. Save the file.

USAGE:
===================================================================================================

Double-click on run.bat; the game will open and should be fully playable.

NOTES:
===================================================================================================

As with all Java applet games of this era, there are a few performance issues on modern systems:

 - Very infrequently, the game may lag or pause (less than 0.5 seconds).
 - If too many sounds occur in quick succession, some of those sounds may be dropped / be silent.
 - Repeated actions, such as jumping, are not always paced evenly (you may jump sooner or later
   than expected).

These issues are generally minor and should not impede enjoyment of the game.
